Chappe celebrates the shared cultural day of the Baltic Sea region on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The sea has long been a source of inspiration in art — including in our current exhibition Island of Happiness – The Önningeby Artists’ Colony.
On this special day, art conservator Jaana Paulus will share insights into the fascinating world of art conservation.

Join artist Helmi Remes and Chappe’s curator Pia Hovi for a guided tour of the Impetus – Out of the Cube exhibition. The curators will share the story behind the exhibition and offer insights into the artworks.

Expert Talk: Inspired by Oiva Toikka

Oiva Toikka is best known for his iconic glass birds, but his artistic legacy is far broader and has left a significant mark on the world of design.
His work has also inspired several pieces in Chappe’s exhibition Impetus – Out of the Cube
In this expert talk, writer Jutta Ylä-Mononen – author of the book Oiva Toikka – shares insights into Toikka’s creative world and influence.
The talk will be held mainly in Finnish and lasts approximately 45 minutes
